People who obey traffic rules to be charged for sedition!
The BADU (Bengaluru Automobile Drivers Union) has issued an official warning to those who obey traffic rules yesterday. This came in midst of rising quarrels on the roads, where a few want to obey traffic rules and cause inconvenience to the majority of the driving population here. Below is the excerpt from the press release of BADU:
After repeated complaints of a few minority people causing inconvenience to the majority of the driving population by abiding to traffic rules, BADU has decided to take the matter very seriously. This will be the last warning for them. We will not be patient anymore. We have the responsibility to teach them a lesson on the law of the land.
Offenders will be punished as follows:
1) BADU members can beat people who obey signals
2) Members can continuously honk if they find anyone obeying rules, so as to alert fellow BADU members
3) Repeat offenders (those who consistently follow the rules) will lose BADU membership and can be charged with sedition
This press release has invited a lot of praise across various sections of the society, especially the police. “Yes, this is a great move! The other day during peak hours, I wanted to pee. Since it was very urgent I forgot about the signal and just ran behind a lamp post. When I returned things were normal as if I was standing there. BADU members from all sides were going across, honking and without any hesitation. Imagine if people were actually abiding signals, how long they would have to wait for me!” – he spoke.
Though most classes of society has appreciated this move, it has drawn flak from minority section who call themselves as DUMB (Drivers Union of Moot Bengaluru). “We do not object BADU members driving on the footpath, they should not object to DUMB people stopping for red signals!”
